**Please note that the table pictured was a reworking of a customer’s dining table that had been made by a family member. The tabletop was saved, the based was removed and metal legs were added. It should give an idea of the overall look that can be achieved**

Custom solid wood dining tables available in most any size or timber. Standard woods are black walnut, cherry or white oak. Please contact regarding other domestic or exotic timbers.

The metal legs are custom made by hand and are available in several different designs. Special care is taken to account for seasonal movement of the tabletop based on the budget and desired design of the customer. Typically I add cleats to the underside of the tabletop that have slotted holes which allow the wood top to expand/contract throughout the seasons. I also use threaded inserts in the table which allow the cleat/leg assemblies to easily be removed during moving. Less expensive tops are generally not made with this attention to detail which would likely lead to cracking and shorter life expectancy.

Tabletop surfaces can be finished with a number of different products depending on desired characteristics. The most “green” option is a hardwax oil that it supple to the touch, food safe, durable and easy to repair. Another good option for a finish is lacquer or high grade polyurethane, though the price is a bit higher because of the application process.
