Finally got the vfd programmed correctly to run my Wadkin UR router up to 300hz. What a process! Listen to those bearings. Nasty. The Emmert vise is very handy for holding odd shaped things like this leg from the sofa in working on.
It had weak dowels helping to hold the three pieces together. Not cool. I replaced them with ½" x 3-½" floating tenons and now they are much stronger. First project using the new bench is to reupholster the Pearsall sofa that’s been waiting over a year. The legs are all getting sanded down and I’m going to replace the crappy dowels with floating tenons to strengthen things. Getting some help from Helen @millerupholstering on the webbing. Once I get all this reupholstery done I will start working on a few new designs - a sofa and two chairs.

I was finally able to finish rebuilding the spindle on my shaper. High precision bearings with an oil wicking system. The bandsaw and mortise or tables will act as in feed and outfeed so that should be good. All the machines in my workshop need to be very friendly with one another since I’m dealing with a very small space…

Pretty sweet action. I learned a long time ago to use handscrews to help out at the workbench. Clamp the work with a handscrew and clamp the handscrew to the bench! This is how I avoid needing a sliding deadman. I don’t like them - they just get in the way. Emmert vise installation finally finished up. The handle that disengages the pin which allows the vise to rotate is broken so I will need to get another. I have one source, but if anyone knows of another please share!
