Drawing largely on the clean lines of Japanese design and the work of George Nakashima, this table gives a nod to the past, while looking to the future. 

Originally created to partner with a built-in dining booth, the table features a trestle base with splayed legs and feet. The versatile central design of the base accommodates either chairs or a booth setup. 

Much care and attention to detail comes into the overall makeup both from an aesthetic and practical standpoint. In order to achieve strength in all joinery, tight tolerances and hidden hardware are used throughout the piece. This ensures the table will remain strong and solid for a lifetime. 

Select timber is chosen for each component ensuring both beauty and strength. 

The table is 30"H x 38" W and available in three standard lengths - 70", 82" and 94". Your choice of domestic hardwoods - walnut, cherry or white oak. It is handmade, one piece at a time and is typically completed in 6 to 8 weeks.

This piece was designed to maximize the space in my dining room (approx. 8' x 9' space) as well as accommodate the most seating for family and friends. An additional challenge was to incorporate as much storage into the piece as possible. The four large drawers under the seats provide ample space for bulky items. 

The flush fit drawer fronts, angled back/seat and clean lines capture the look I was after very well and allow the carefully chosen walnut to really shine. This is beautiful seating that always gets showered in compliments any time a new person sees it!

Built following the guidelines spelled out in 'The Anarchist's Tool Chest' by Christopher Schwarz. This is an excellent chest and while intended for use with tools, could be used for storage of many different things. It's a great design and a beautiful piece.

This is another piece built for my luthier friend in Tennessee. Meant to support a large work surface that is central to his workshop, this had to be built in two sections (modular style) in order to fit up the stairs, as his shop is in an historic Victorian house in downtown Knoxville. 

I'm glad I thought to ask how wide the staircase was prior to building this cabinet!
